Don't Forget! Park River and Trout Brook clean-up part of Source-to-Sea event

The Park River Watershed Revitalization Initiative and REI West Hartford are
partnering on Park River and Trout Brook cleanups that will be held in
conjunction with the 21st annual Farmington River Watershed Association
Clean-up and the 12th annual Connecticut River Watershed Council’s “Source
to the Sea” cleanup on Saturday, October 4th, 2008 at two locations:

WHERE: MORNING
9:00am – 11:30 am along the NORTH Park River – meet at UConn Law School,
east parking lot. The address to the entrance of this parking lot is
100 Sherman Street, Hartford, Ct

and/or
AFTERNOON
1:00pm – 3:30 am along the SOUTH Branch and Trout Brook – meet at Beachland
Park in West Hartford (S. Quaker Lane). Groups will work along Trout Brook
as it travels south into Hartford, so as to link up with the Trinity College
Green Campus group that will be working in the Park River's South Branch at
Newfield Avenue.

WHO: Volunteer of all ages, individuals and groups, interested in learning
more about area waterways. Families are welcome, with special assignments
for youth volunteers.

Letters can be provided to verify community service participation.

WHAT TO WEAR:
Volunteers ought to wear long sleeved shirts, pants and socks (deter poison
ivy) and boots with thick soles. Volunteers may bring their own gloves and
waders.
