CT Transit Public Meeting for Bus Service Improvements (Tonight OCT 1, 5:30)

CTTRANSIT is holding a Public Meeting on Wednesday, October 1, from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Hartford Public Library main branch at 500 Main Street, Hartford.

The meeting will give CTTRANSIT bus users an opportunity to make suggestions for changes and share ideas for improvements. CTTRANSIT customers from all areas are encouraged to attend.

State, regional and local officials will be there to listen to suggestions and concerns.  There will be someone at the meeting to translate comments or questions received in Spanish.

The Central Branch of Hartford Public Library is located along many bus routes. There is an entrance to the library on Main Street. The library is accessible for persons with disabilities.

Persons requiring auxiliary aids (such as sign language services) should call 860-522-8101, ext. 221 or email ggregg@cttransit.com before September 24.  A Spanish translator will be at the meeting.

To get the ball rolling, here’s one idea:  Create simpler schedules and maps, and clearer names of bus routes.  Compare Boston’s online interface (http://www.mbta.com/, then click on BUS) with CT Transit’s (http://www.cttransit.com/RoutesSchedules/index.asp).

CTTRANSIT is the state-owned bus transit system serving the greater Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury, New Britain, Meriden, Bristol and Wallingford areas.
